National Symphonic Invitational

Music Celebrations International is pleased to present the National Symphonic Invitational, an exclusive music event that will take place each Spring in the Concert Hall at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Five select instrumental ensembles will be featured in performance at this historic concert venue. Each orchestra will also take part in a clinic with an esteemed conductor and clinician.

Washington, D.C. is a city where history, culture, and inspiration come alive. From iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial and the U.S. Capitol to world-class museums along the National Mall, the capital offers endless opportunities to explore America’s story. Visitors can experience the quiet reflection of Arlington National Cemetery, the striking power of the World War II Memorial, and the vibrant neighborhoods that showcase the city’s diverse culture.

With its blend of celebrated symbols, free attractions, and year-round festivals and events, Washington, D.C. is more than the nation’s capital—it’s a destination that leaves a lasting impression on every traveler.

Sample Itinerary

DAY ONE: FRIDAY

  • Arrive in Washington, DC
  • Meet your MCI Tour Manager, who will escort you through the duration of your activities
  • Enjoy a panoramic motorcoach tour of Historic Washington, DC, including a visit to Lafayette Square for a photo opportunity of the White House
  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Evening illuminated walking tour of the US Marine Corps “Iwo Jima” War Memorial, the US Air Force Memorial and the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial
  • Check-in to your hotel for overnight

 

DAY TWO: SATURDAY

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit Historic Congressional Cemetery for a private Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the graveside of John Philip Sousa
  • Festival lunch cruise on the Potomac River
  • Time allotted to tour of one of the Smithsonian Institution Museums
  • Participate in a clinic with the Festival Clinician
  • Dinner, on own
  • Evening guided illuminated walking tour of the Lincoln, Korean, Martin Luther King, Jr., Vietnam, National World War II, African American Civil War, Eisenhower, and Jefferson Memorials as well as the Washington Monument and the Emancipation Monument
  • Return to the hotel for overnight

 

DAY THREE: SUNDAY

  • Pick up a boxed breakfast at the hotel and check-out
  • Morning sound check at the John F.
  • Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • Lunch at KC Café
  • Tour the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts facilities
  • National Symphonic Invitational Performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • Following the performance, depart for home
